The Mining Shared Value (MSV) initiative of Engineers Without Borders has been able to influence the global mining industry to affect a major system norm: where and how mining companies purchase goods and services needed for a mine. This intervention has the potential to unleash tens of billions of dollars back into the economies of developing countries, fuelling public and private sector capacity. In this session MSV will draw from their experience to show how systems thinking can be used by even the smallest of teams to influence global industries.
