Impact Investing is the process of investing with the intention to generate positive, measurable social and environmental impact alongside a financial return. Providing much-needed capital to address the world’s challenges, the impact investing field is growing, and has doubled in the last year according to the Global Impact Investing Network. EWB invests catalytic capital to de-risk seed-stage social ventures that are breaking down the barriers to opportunities for women and marginalized populations in Sub-Saharan Africa in highly scalable, innovative, and inclusive ways at the customer and market level. So, how does impact investing work in practice? Join Beth Foster and Elena Haba from EWB’s Investment Team to find out more about this growing field and step into the shoes of an impact investor by evaluating the business and social impact potential of an early stage startup.
